What is Isotides?
A year of tides, turned into a print.
Isotides turns real tide data from your favourite beach into a beautiful wall print. Every high and low across an entire year is plotted as a dot on a minimalist grid — accurate enough to read, beautiful enough to hang.
How it works
Each row is a month, each column is a day. The dots show when high and low tides happen, and how big they are.
Bigger dots mean more extreme tides. You can see the rhythm shift across months — spring tides cluster around full and new moons, neap tides sit quieter in between.
Every poster uses the same layout, so once you learn to read one, you can read any beach. The patterns are always unique to the location.
The Poster
Every beach has a unique tidal fingerprint — shaped by the moon, the coastline, and the seasons. We map every high and low into a clean grid of dots: bigger for bigger tides, arranged so you can feel the rhythm at a glance. It’s a data portrait that’s personal to your place, and an artwork that changes how a room feels.

The Story
The idea: something designed, visual, and deeply personal — yet grounded in real data and actually useful.
It started with a birthday present: a tide poster for a friend who loves surfing Raglan. When I shared it online, people asked for posters of their own favourite beaches. So here we are.
— Georgy Malanichev, founder of Isotides

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the data accurate?
The data comes from official sources — Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) for New Zealand and the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) for Australia. Every curve is calculated, not estimated.
Does the poster show the whole year?
Yes. Twelve months of tides, laid out in a 12×31 grid. Every day of the tidal year, in sequence.
Is the tide data for a full calendar year?
Yes — each edition covers January through December of the selected year. Tides follow lunar cycles so they're timeless as art, but we anchor each edition to a calendar year for clarity.
What sizes are available?
Three sizes: A3 (29.7×42cm), A2 (42×59.4cm), and A1 (59.4×84.1cm). All sizes include a framing option — choose unframed tide poster or assembled framed, ready to hang.
What's the delivery time?
Made to order — typically 5 business days to print and ship. Free worldwide delivery for unframed posters; free NZ/AU delivery for framed.
What if I'm not happy with my poster?
We want you to love your poster. Not happy? Return it within 30 days for a full refund. If it arrives damaged, we’ll replace it free — just let us know.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. Unframed posters ship free worldwide. Framed posters are available within New Zealand and Australia only (free shipping both countries) — the weight and handling of framed prints makes international shipping impractical.
Why do some posters look different from others?
Tide patterns vary by location. Most places have semi-diurnal tides — two highs and two lows each day — which create our signature dual-pathway look. Some locations, mainly on Australia’s west coast, experience diurnal tides with just one high and one low per day. We use a tidal thread visualization for those to best reflect their natural rhythm. See Fremantle, Perth, Albany, or Margaret River for examples. Both styles are accurate and unique to each location.
